Gethyllis species

I can't tell you how sorry I am that that is a lie. If Gethyllis flowers were really that big, I'm pretty sure that by now they would have taken over the world. But they're not, and they haven't. Instead, they're just a little known genus of South African Amaryllids that are so obscure that almost no one outside of Africa has ever heard of them. Sigh...

Well, this is it. The cusp, the moment of truth, the climax, if you will, in the life of a Gethyllis. And while there are some larger species, this fairly typical one is barely 2 inches across.
